If Rickey Henderson played football would Tim Raines be in the Hall of Fame?
Filed Under Baseball | 7 Comments
Tim Raines put up great career numbers, but I think two factors have unfairly hurt his chances of getting into the Hall. The era he played in overshadowed by the greatness of Rickey Henderson; and second playing in Montreal where he received scant attention.

quote last year on Jim Larranaga suspending one of his own players (in the CAA tournament) for hitting another player:
“It sends chills through my entire body to hear what Jim did. Honestly, if he was here right now, I’d give him a big hug. We need more coaches to have the courage to step up in situations like this and say to our kids, ‘That’s wrong; I’m not making excuses for you.’ If I were in the same situation, I hope I’d be gutsy enough and strong enough to do the same thing, but I can’t swear to you that I would. If a big-name coach did something like that, people would be fitting him for sainthood by tomorrow.”
The coach quoted??? Coach K
So where is that gutsy call, coach?

What other WR should I start? M. Colston, D. Henderson, M. Clayton?
Filed Under Fantasy Sports | 8 Comments
I have Plaxico Buress as my #1 WR. I’m leaning towards Henderson. I think Colston is not at a 100% What do you guys think?

Are there really people out there who think Ichiro is a better Lead-off hitter than Rickey Henderson?
Filed Under Baseball | 6 Comments
I admire Ichiro but his OBP is far worse than Rickey’s and there is an obviously huge disparity in raw steals with Rickey still retaining the superior steal rate. I don’t see how this can even be a legitimate question.
Obviously we’re talking peak years here. If someone wanted to argue that Ichiro is better right now then I guess that would make sense…
I’ve recently seen online discussions about this topic and I wondered how prevalent the idea was. I’m not asking “who’s better?” (The answer to the is beyond obvious).
jxhzut - Total hits is a poor and misleading measure for a lead off hitter. An Ichiro single with no one on base is no different than a Rickey walk which is why OBP (which takes the 200 hits into account) is a more accurate (and more widely used) measure of value.
Your steals to wins logic is ridiculous, do you have any sources? How did you come to his 1 extra win per year measure? It sounds like nothing more than the drunken babblings of a fan who lacks objectivity.

Can anyone recommend a good therapist in Las Vegas or Henderson, NV?
Filed Under Mental Health | Comments Off
My boyfriend, 27 years old, has decided that talking to a professional about some of his past family issues would be a good idea. He has some trouble with holding on to his youth, being controlled by his mother and younger brother, and not being able to accept his life now. Any recommendations on a therapist? He works for MGM Mirage and has their insurance.
